For Northern California residents like themselves, wildfires are a familiar sight—started by a downed power line, or cigarette tossed by a careless driver. Inspired by the selfless actions of their community members during these fires, Chris and Will set out to document their stories. The Glass Fire, was their unfortunate opportunity. Took a little adventure with some friends out to the abandoned ghost town of Wingo, CA. Wingo, California is located just south of Sonoma along the banks of Sonoma Creek. In the 1800’s, Wingo served as a connection between steamships in the bay and the railroads of Sonoma County. Now the town is part of the Napa-Sonoma Marshes Wildlife Area and is overseen by CA Fish & Wildlife. Song - Up Granville, Peach Pit

(Project originally commissioned for Sonoma Academy's "Big Night In 2021") I sat down at my desk two or three months ago and thought, "Man, I wish I could have told myself that my senior year of high school wouldn't be that bad" (Despite there being a pandemic). This spiraled into a cluster of things and ideas that I wish I told myself and I was like hang on, I've got an idea here. I created this film to seem almost as if it was a time capsule being sent back into March of 2020. A testament to the "living" that there still is to be done as a senior in high school despite there being a pandemic. When I thought back to how I felt last March, what I really wanted was to know if everything would be "okay".
